I suggested my mom to print some of the drawings on shopping totes, and offer them in her Etsy shop. She laughed at the idea, thinking no one would like the drawings as much as we did. Well, she was wrong! A couple of them were sent to Canada! I wonder what my grandfather would have thought of all this.

The one with the drawings from the basement
Recently my mother was cleaning up her basement. After hoarding lots of things, for a long time, most things that were living in the basement ended up in the trashcan. There were also some gems that showed up. Like a wooden box containing things from my (late) grandfather, my mother's father. He died before I was born, so I only know him through pictures and my mother and grandmothers stories. In the wooden box were a couple of ink drawings on paper. I liked them a lot, I could even see them hanging in a museum (ok, I might be just a little bit biased).

ReplyDeleteThat is amazing! So...the drawings were made by your grandfather? Or he just had them in his possession? That is an amazing tribute to him, no matter!
ReplyDeleteThey were made by him!
DeleteWow, what a great find! The drawings look like they could be current, but the history behind them makes them so much more interesting than they already are!
