The one with the bangs

I did it! From last saturday on I am team-bangs. We need some getting used to each other, but I am sure we'll get along. Getting my picture taken is not my favourite thing, at all. But here's a bit of an idea what I look like now. The rest of my hair has gotten a bit of a make over too. It's around 15 centimeters shorter and it's cut into a bob. Not a short and not a long bob, a bit in between. Does that make it a semi-long-bob (or a s-lob)?

Love these shades of blue

How has your week been? We've had quite the weather for this time of year, although we've been seeing loads and loads of rain (those clouds should be empty by now!). This weekend isn't full of plans, except for an appointment to get my hair cut. I'm still considering getting bangs. Are you a fan of bangs? What should I do?! To bang or not to bang. That's the question....

Hope you'll be having a wonderful weekend. Anything special planned for saturday and sunday? See you next week!

The one with all the icecream cones

During summer I came across lots of these king size icecreamcones. I started to photograph them, and forgot all about them, until last weekend, when I started an attempt at organising the photos on my laptop. We've had some cold days by now (but no snow so far), and with predictions for today that are quite warm (15°C, and according to the converter 59°F) for this time of year, I might snatch up an celebratory icecream (or two) after work. I hope these shots will put a smile upon your face.

The one with some music for your monday

For this monday I thought it might be fun to do another music-post. I love discovering new artists and songs, and these are the songs that I've been listening to most the last couple of days. Credit for the Austra song goes to Melissa from Hilltop Hausfrau. This isn't the first time she introduced me to some fine tunes. The video may be a bid odd, but you can't judge a book by its cover, or a song by its video, right? Have you find any treasures, music wise? I'd love to hear what you've been listening to in the comments below!

James Bay - Hold back the River

Bastille vs Haim - Bite Down

 Ryn Weaver - OctoHate

Austra - Hurt me now

Sam Smith - Have yourself a Merry Little Christmas

The one with the things I liked this week (96)

A big cliché, but I can't believe it's december already, feels like the year just started. Where did those first eleven months go? So far, my struggle with winter (I know, technically winter hasn't even begun) isn't that unmanageable this year. Normally, I get really bummed out by the cold and shorter days, but so far it's not that bad. We haven't had any snow at all and not much rain, let's hope it stays that way! I wouldn't mind a white Christmas, it's the slush-part that follows after the snow-part that go along with it that I dislike. In just a couple of weeks the shortest day will be behind us, and we will slowly be going towards my favourite season: spring. That time of year when you can leave scarf, gloves and hat at home again, without any bodyparts freezing off. Having the knowledge that you have a whole summer ahead! Going out for icecream, wearing ballet-flats, sipping on cold drinks, evenings of reading books out on the balcony, after dinner walks, and buying red fruits at the farmers markt. Oh my, I think I am getting ahead of things. Lets rewind, get back to december, and tackle winter first. Here are the things I liked this week.

This beautiful balcony

Saturday drinks, I love the pretty illustrations on the labels

What's a week without a new good looking door!

Happy to see something green on a grey day

Happy enveloppes make my mailbox very happy

Something else making me happy, my new wintercoat, with many thanks to granny

How has your week been? Are you team winter, or team summer? I hope your weekend is fantastic so far, enjoy the rest of it! Cheers and hope to see you next week.

The one with the heartshaped Christmas ornament DIY

Rudolph's on his way, the ornaments moved up from the basement, I have started to search for recipes to cook up during the holidays, and the first Christmas songs have been listened to. Time to get crafty and make something Christmassy! Besides the traditional Christmas colours, I like to add some gold to the mix. These are quite easy to whip up, and if you're the craft supply hoarder I am, you might already have some of the supplies beads and charms laying around the house.

What you'll need
  • thick wire
  • thin wire
  • small beads (but big enough so they can be beaded to the thick wire)
  • charms
  • a bit of glue

Fold the thick wire in the middle

Fold the edges together to make a heart shape

Start beading away

Tie the edges together with the thin wire and secure with a drop of glue

Wrap the thin wire around the heart, adding the charms and more beads

How far are you with decorating? Any homemade decorations?

The one with the DaWanda XMAS sale

Up until the 8th of december there's a XMAS sale going on over at DaWanda. Today you'll receive a 12% discount on all tote bags. There are different offers each day, so it might be worth it to hop on over to their site every now and then this coming week. I've got my eyes on a couple of items for my loved ones, so I'll be checking out my favourites these next days. Have you been holiday shopping already?
