This is a repost of a DIY I posted back in 2013. This is my most viewed post, and was featured on sites like Readers Digest and Brit.co
Because today is Valentine's day, I am posting this one again. Why? Because I think Valentine's day shouldn't have to be about fancy, expensive gifts and I wanted to show you that it's super easy to make a gift yourself. And what says I love you more, than a cute little DIY? This project only costed me a plate and a Sharpie (the one that has 'paint' written on it) that I already had. Besides that, all you need is a little bit of time!

Start by making ovals
Make triangles
Don't forget to bake your plate for half an hour at 150ºC / 300ºF
I do my dishes the old fashioned way, but once baked, it should
be dishwasher-proof.
To make it more fancy, you can wrap it up with some homemade cookies, or some of your loved ones favourite chocolates. You can find more DIY projects over here.
This is such a simple but cool VDay DIY, Marieken. Totally understand why everyone read it:) Anyhoo, hope you have fab one! I don't really celebrate it, but I still enjoy seeing all the pinks and reds:)
ReplyDeleteI feel completely the same way - Valentine's should not be about running out to buy things. Handmade/homemade are the way to go!
ReplyDeleteThat is so cool! Congrats on the feature!
ReplyDeleteOh I love this idea! I can see why this post got featured. I am definitely going to remember this. It would be perfect when giving someone homemade cookies or other goodies.
ReplyDeleteI can see why it’s so popular! Awesome DIY :)
ReplyDeleteDIY is always special. I love that the project can also be done to upcycle or treat plates with minor scratches or damages.
ReplyDeleteOh I love that.. so simple yet beautiful.
