What you'll need:
- glitter, I used silver, pink and purple glitter
- glue
- a brush
- a small (old) dish, bowl, saucer or plate
- varnish
What you'll need to do:
Pour the glitter in a bowl
If you're using different colours, give them a good stir
Cover your work space with paper, things can get a bit messy.
Apply the glue with your brush
Pour the glitter over the bowl
Let dry for a couple of hours and apply a thin layer of (spray) varnish.
Use the paper that covers your work space as a funnel to pour back the
glitter that didn't stick to the bowl.
Glitter make everything look better!!
ReplyDeleteMaybe I should add some glitter to my vacuum cleaner....
DeleteSo cute!! Love your matching glittery nails :)
ReplyDeleteThanks, I thought it would be nice to match them with the project :-)
DeleteHow fun! That's a good shade of purple.
ReplyDeleteI've been thinking about painting a wall purple, I am just not courages enough to actually do it....
Deletesweet! ps- we've gone from subzero on friday to today, which is supposed to reach the 40s. it is SO foggy right now!
ReplyDeleteNo fog here, quite a bit of rain though!
DeleteWhat a fun DIY! Great idea to add a coat of varnish to make sure the glitter stays in place during use.
ReplyDeleteSo far, it has been sitting on the same place. I used some glitter in the past, that ended up everywhere (the varnish idea didn't come to mind back then)
DeleteAgree with the comment above....glitter does make everything better:D
ReplyDeleteYes it does! I am thinking about what else could be 'glittered'
DeleteNicely combined with a black & white post card. Love the colours you used & how you combined them.

ReplyDeleteLet me know if things get out of hand! Oh, and have a very happy new year Melissa!
DeleteLove this!! I'm all for glitter on everything. :)
ReplyDeleteSo am I, already thinking about a new glitter project!
DeleteVery pretty! I saw "glitter" and "DIY" and knew I had to click over. I'm really sad I had to give my glitter stash to my mom before I moved last month and currently have none!
ReplyDeleteTime for a new stash! I still have some glitter left so I am in need of another project :-)
DeleteIt's lovely and the color is wonderful too! Wishing you a happy new year that's as pretty and sparkly as this glitter dish!
