I think this is the first plant I've ever bought for myself. More on this next monday in a DIY post.
Ofcourse, I didn't make the plant myself, but it needed a place to live in :-)

I never say 'no' to tea and cake. The Dutch name for this kind of cake is 'vlaai'.
Taking some new product pictures for some of my Etsy listings
New additions to my household
Getting some cuddles
I love this post! Everything is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYummy cake and cute, cute kitties (yes, the black one too) ;-)
The cake was yummy indeed, have you ever had vlaai?
DeleteCan't wait for your new DIY! And vlaai and tea, mmm
ReplyDeleteRijst is mijn favoriet, dus dat was dubbel boffen :-)
DeleteI didn't know it, but apparently I need some vlaai.
ReplyDeletelove your new print. too cute.
I never did good with plants, but I've come a long way. right now the geraniums I took in from the yard in fall, are doing great on my window sills and I've been doing that for a few years now. that looks like a plant that can stand being ignored so you should be good to go. just need to find the right spot.
you wouldn't like it at all here today. it's 5F with a -15F windchill. Basically, it's downright freezing. yay for the woodstove.
I went grocery shopping without gloves this morning, it's not as cold here as it is over there, but I should have taken them. I choose this plant because they seem quite hard to get rid of..
Deleteawww..look at the face of the cat. I just want to smush it. I actually have 2 houseplants that I'm struggling to keep alive. I'm think of just tossing them and starting over. They look so pathetic.
ReplyDeleteMy plant will probably look pathetic in no time too :-)
DeleteOh my gosh....that cake!!!!! I die!
ReplyDeleteOne of my favourites!
DeleteCant wait to read more about that plant. I'm a notorious plant killer in these parts, despite my best intentions.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you on tea and cake. Can't go wrong!
Hope you are having a wonderful January...
Hope you're having a good one too! I really should go and water that plant now...
DeleteYour plant is beautiful! I love houseplants, but I get nervous whenever I bring home new ones even when I research to make sure they're not toxic to cats.
ReplyDeleteI love plants too, but in other's peoples houses... I hope I'll manage to keep it alive for a long time!
DeleteI just love how all these comments are from people who aren't so great with plants! me too! I somehow killed my succulents...in southern California. I think that's impossible. Can't wait to see the DIY!
ReplyDeleteAlso, your cat kind of looks like mine! She's cuddling me right now.
Happy to hear I am not the only plant-killer!
DeleteI never say no to tea and cake either. :) happy weekend.
ReplyDeleteEspecially in winter! And I think it's pretty rude to say 'no' to cake :-)
ReplyDeleteCake is so yummy and of course the blue china is so endearing! Love your sweet post!!!
ReplyDeleteI love beautiful cups and saucers :-)
DeleteYour plant is goooorgeous! i'm not very good at keeping plants, they usually die, so i should probably get a cactus. I also love that picture! xx
ReplyDeleteThanks! I wonder how long it will take this one before it dies...
DeleteI look forward to seeing how you potted your plant! I love succulents.
ReplyDeleteSo do I! I might get some more.
Deletethat cake looks super yummy....how about sharing the recipe?

This was storebought, I never tried making this kind of cake. If you're interested, here's a recipe for Dutch 'rijstevlaai', and it's in English too! http://www.thedutchtable.com/2010/01/rijstevlaai-rice-pie.html
DeleteHi Marieken! I'm intrigued with the plant. I have no idea what it is. Looking forward to see it on your next post.
ReplyDeleteAs for the cake, I can't likewise say no to it!!
Wishing you a great week ahead!
You too Diane!

ReplyDeleteI could have cake for breakfast, lunch and dinner :-)
DeleteThat cake looks amazing! And I want to crawl through the screen and cuddle your kitty :)
ReplyDeleteI think he would like that!
Deleteanother good one that is hard to kill.............snake plant. my mother had one for YEARS that I think my older sister started in elementary school in the classroom. You could ignore that thing forEVER and it still kept growing.https://www.etsy.com/listing/122135032/variegated-snake-plant-sanseviera?utm_source=google&utm_medium=product_listing_promoted&utm_campaign=plants_and_edibles_low&gclid=CNKTxv_TobwCFStnOgodPF8A1Q
