The one with Valentine's day

This is a repost of a DIY I posted back in 2013. This is my most viewed post, and was featured on sites like Readers Digest and Brit.co
Because today is Valentine's day, I am posting this one again. Why? Because I think Valentine's day shouldn't have to be about fancy, expensive gifts and I wanted to show you that it's super easy to make a gift yourself. And what says I love you more, than a cute little DIY? This project only costed me a plate and a Sharpie (the one that has 'paint' written on it) that I already had. Besides that, all you need is a little bit of time!

Start by making ovals

Make triangles

Don't forget to bake your plate for half an hour at 150ºC / 300ºF
I do my dishes the old fashioned way, but once baked, it should
be dishwasher-proof.

To make it more fancy, you can wrap it up with some homemade cookies, or some of your loved ones favourite chocolates. You can find more DIY projects over here.

The one with a sunday walk

Sharing some pictures from a recent walk, it was slightly snowing that day, so that explains the stripes on the photos. So far we haven't had many snowdays, and I am hoping we are slowly moving towards spring, without to many snow, hail and other kinds of wintery weather. Surprisingly, I managed to squeeze in some doors into this post :-)

Noticed the creepy doll heads? They give me the Heebie-Jeebies!

Enjoy your weekend!

I've been catching up on Grey's Anatomy, which I don't just love as television series, but it's also one of my favourite sources for new songs and artists. The third and fourth song have been featured on the show. Have you discoved any songs lately that are shareworthy? Please feel free to share your favourites in the commentsection below.

The one with the newly discovered streetart

Two sundays ago I went for lunch with my mom at the old soup factory. On our walk there we discovered new street art, what a treat! I was happy as a bird with a french fry, with these colourful pieces. It was a bit of a grey and cold day, and I was pretty pleased with how these photos turned out. Hope they bring some sunshine to your day.

As a bonus, we also spotted this car. I instagrammed the photo (#asundaycarpic, my favourite hashtags, where loads of people from all around the world post pictures of pretty cars), with the question what kind of car it might have been. According to Mary, it's an Opel Caravan. According to in.wien.mit.wien it's a Peugeot 404 Familiale. They both think it's from the sixties. Nowadays cars are definitely more comfortable, but I prefer the look of oldies like this one!

The one with Etsy finds

Because of the upcoming holiday season, I've been spending more time on Etsy than usual, in search of unique items that aren't available on every street corner. Buying from small shops (although I am guilty of buying from department shops occasionally) is something I love. Searching for that something special, supporting a dream, people who cook up unique items. Instead of buying things that are made by big corporations. How I spend my money is a choice. And I like to choose to spend it in a way, where I think I make the world a bit of a nicer place. Have you started your holiday shopping yet? Do you shop from websites like Etsy? Or local shops? Maybe I'll snatch up that little dove pendant for myself....

The one with the shameless self-promotion

Happy monday everyone! It's a cold, grey rainy day over here. So I am sitting at my desk together with a big glass of camomille tea and some chocolate to get me through the day.....

In case you were planning on doing some Christmas shopping over at my Etsy shop, please make sure to place your order before the 5th of December. When ordered before this date, you are sure to receive your Christmas prezzies in time for the holidays!

The one with the doors of Den Bosch

If you're familiar with my blog, you may know I have a thing for doors. Back in september I visited Den Bosch with my mom. On our walk across town, we spotted some pretty ones, that I thought deserve a post of their own. Making this post, makes me think I really should get into blogging again, because it brings me lots of joy, and I like re-reading old ones and seeing what I've been up to. Like a sort of online journal. I've made this resolution before, but this time I may succeed in doing so. How are you, how's life in your corner of the world? What have you been up to?

The one with some music

Ray LaMontagne - Part two - in my own way

Leo Stannard - Please don't

P!nk - Stay with me

James Blake - Waves know shores

Michael Kiwanuka - Cold little heart

The last one is the opening theme for Big Little Lies. After making a reservation for this series' DVD box at our local library, i finally gotten my hands on it last saturday. I've bingewatched it last week, and loved everything about it. The leading ladies were perfectly cast (why isn't Reese Witherspoon getting any older, what's her secret?), it's something different from any other show that's on right now. I don't do any review posts, but this is definitely a show I can recommend. Have you watched the show? Any music you've digging right now? Love to hear from you!

The one in Den Bosch

A couple of weeks ago mum and me went to Den Bosch, there is another post about this city, which you can find here. This time we visited the Stedelijk museum and the Noord Brabants museum.

One of the temporary exhibitions was about the eighties. On display was the dress worn by our former Queen Beatrix when she was crowned in 1980. I am digging the Queen Beatrix wallpaper adorning the walls!

Happy as a bird with a French fry when I spotted some vintage cars

The other exhibition showed work from Japanese artist Chiharu Shiota. This installation was made from about 2,000 balls of wool, held together by approximately 10,000 staples. If you're interested, and would like to know more, you may want to check out this short video.

Some pretty doors were spotted along the way too, but I'll show those in a separate post. I think they deserve a post of their own :-) Have you visited any museums lately?
