The one with the confetti envelop

Another Valentine's DIY? Yes, another Valentine's DIY! You might think I am some sort of crazy Valentine's aficionado. Truth is, I think you can tell the special people in your life 365 days a year that they are loved, I don't need a special do for that! But, I did have some leftover confetti from last week's garland DIY. I used them to spice up some envelopes, which were inspired by a very cute and colourful confetti envelop tutorial by Vivid Please.

What you'll need:
  • envelops
  • a pencil
  • (heartshaped) confetti
  • scissors
  • transparant contactpaper (the one that's sticky on one side)

What you'll need to do:

Draw the outline of the envelop on the contactpaper (you don't need to
trace the whole envelop, just below the bottow flap).

Cut the paper inside the lines (a couple of milimeters), so it will end up
a bit smaller than your envelop. Test if it fits your envelop, before removing
the protective paper.

Add the confetti, but leave some of the contactpaper (especially the edges)
without confetti, or else it won't stick to your envelop.

Insert the confetti covered contact paper into the envelop.

Done!

Has there been some Valentine-themed crafting going on at your home? If so,
I'd love to see what you've been up to, feel free to share a link in the comments!

  1. Oh! I like that even better knowing I wouldn't get the confetti all over the room when I open the envelope! That's great. Very cute!

  6. I put confetti in cards all the time, but I like your idea of using the contact paper so it becomes part of the envelope. Cute! I'd love to be on the receiving end of a Valentine like this! :)

I did a diy painted hearts cup on the blog yesterday, not strictly for Valentine's Day but would make a cute present:

  9. I do love the confetti envelope and I think the recipient will be thrilled and you will definitely add a smile to their day! I did not send out Valentine cards this year, however, I did buy a little present for my grand baby and hubby will be taking me out to dinner tomorrow, although he doesn't know it yet.

I do like to send my daughter little gifts every now and then to cheer her up because she gets so homesick. Yesterday her little black cat kitchen clips arrived and she was so excited. Just a little something that I knew would make her smile. That's important to me, as it appears as though you feel the same way for the people you love too.

    Happy Valentine's Day!

  14. This is gorgeous! At first I didn't realise the hearts were stuck to the envelope, it's such a good idea :) I usually send valentines to my best girlfriends. Since none of them live in the same place as me anymore I haven't this year. If I were more organised I would have posted them a present in a beautiful envelope like this! xx

  17. I absolutely love this idea! I don't know why I never thought of it before. I think I may try it for another holiday or season. (Spring-time envelopes with little flowers stuck to the inside of the envelope? Sounds good to me.) Anyway, thanks for this post; I'm actually very interested in mail art, and have been getting involved in letter swapping over the past year. I think putting together envelopes like this will really enhance the experience. Do you keep any pen pals?
Also, I wanted to let you know that I stumbled across your blog through Ayla and her "Look What I Made" link-up party. Each one of your blog post titles reminds me of the TV show "Friends," as each one of those also starts with "the one..." Enjoy the rest of February!
