The one with King's Day

Last friday I wrote a bit about King's Day, that was celebrated last saturday. I skipped the flea market this year and I didn't feel like going to any of the party's. Together with my mom, I did a bit of shopping, we walked around town, had breakfast, and did some people watching from my balcony (enjoying a tompouce). It's tradition to wear orange, but because I don't have anything orange in my wardrobe, I decided to rock some orange nails for the occassion. We also watched some of the festivities on the television. I think the queen looked gorgeous. How was your weekend?

  5. It sounds like you had a nice holiday. That pastry looks good! I've never had a tompouce; I'll have to add it to my list of things to try if I ever go to The Netherlands (hopefully, one day!). The little girls in their matching dresses are so cute. :)

    1. You should give them a try! Preferably not in public though. Most people tend to make a big mess, trying to eat them.

  10. I lived in Amsterdam for a while and somehow missed the timing for queens day (as it was then). I've seen it on TV but would love to see it in person one day

  20. I would love to see photos of your balcony. Would you consider? I love balconies and I'm deprived of it in our own home. I'm also interested with the tompouce.

    1. You'll probably see some of the balcony in summer. I am planning to spend a lot of time there when it starts to get sunnier :-)
