The one with King's Day
Last friday I wrote a bit about King's Day, that was celebrated last saturday. I skipped the flea market this year and I didn't feel like going to any of the party's. Together with my mom, I did a bit of shopping, we walked around town, had breakfast, and did some people watching from my balcony (enjoying a tompouce). It's tradition to wear orange, but because I don't have anything orange in my wardrobe, I decided to rock some orange nails for the occassion. We also watched some of the festivities on the television. I think the queen looked gorgeous. How was your weekend?

I love that you have to wear orange for the day:D Your polish looks awesome.
ReplyDeleteHad a great weekend, which is always nice, eh?
Great weekends are the best!
DeleteYes it has an orange topping, normally it's pink though.
ReplyDeleteYour orange nails are great :)
ReplyDeleteI think Maxima always looks beautiful! I had to smile a little at the video that is currently going round...
Yes, that video is something.... Funny that it's not just going around over here.
DeleteOh, what an absolutely gorgeous nail color!
ReplyDeleteThanks, now I need to figure out which colour's next...
DeleteIt sounds like you had a nice holiday. That pastry looks good! I've never had a tompouce; I'll have to add it to my list of things to try if I ever go to The Netherlands (hopefully, one day!). The little girls in their matching dresses are so cute. :)
ReplyDeleteYou should give them a try! Preferably not in public though. Most people tend to make a big mess, trying to eat them.
DeleteI love your nails! And you do have a beautiful queen.
ReplyDeleteIsn't she? I'm in love with her wardrobe and her accent.
DeleteYour king and queen are a great-looking couple, like our President and First Lady are--stylish and happy!
ReplyDeleteYour first lady always looks very chic, I think she is sincerely very nice too!
DeleteHmm Tompouce. I had two of those ;)
ReplyDeleteYum! But I always have trouble eating them without making a big mess.
Deletegreat nail color. I hope you weren't too sick to enjoy the day.

Thanks! I wasn't sick, just didn't feel like standing in between crowds of people :-)
DeleteI lived in Amsterdam for a while and somehow missed the timing for queens day (as it was then). I've seen it on TV but would love to see it in person one day
ReplyDeleteI hope you had fun living in Amsterdam. I've never celebrated King's (or Queen's day until last year) in Amsterdam, but I think it would be fun!
DeletePretty nail color! that pastry looks yum!
ReplyDeleteFun celebration!
Thanks, and it was very yum!
DeleteMaxima is so stylish and classy every time I see pictures of her. :-)
ReplyDeleteShe is! I am a bit jealous of all the stunning clothes she gets to wear.
DeleteI love your nail polish and that cake looks scrumptious, sweetie. Kisses
ReplyDeleteIn situations like these my big pile of polish comes in handy!
DeleteI think about orange nails now.... maybe I will change the regular pinks on some orange next time:) We are going on the cruse 2 weeks from now... so it is perfect for Caribbean adventures:)
ReplyDeleteYour cruise sounds wonderful, after some nice weather I'm back to wearing a scarf and multiple layers again. I hope spring will be back soon.
DeleteWhat? Cake? For me? why thank you...............more than happy to celebrate the King for a little tompounce! And yes, the queen looks lovely and happy!
ReplyDeleteI'd be more than happy to get you a tompouce next time!
DeleteI love the fashion choices she makes, you're not a big orange fan too?
ReplyDeleteI missed it all on tv :(
ReplyDeleteBetter luck next year :-)
DeleteLove the orange nails! And the cake looks so tasty :)

I didn't really like orange polish, but I think I might want to wear it again :-)
DeleteHow fun! And pretty nails! :)
ReplyDeleteI would love to see photos of your balcony. Would you consider? I love balconies and I'm deprived of it in our own home. I'm also interested with the tompouce.
ReplyDeleteYou'll probably see some of the balcony in summer. I am planning to spend a lot of time there when it starts to get sunnier :-)
