Last week mom and me hopped on a train to Amsterdam. Where we visited the Rijksmuseum and the Photography Museum and we took a walk around town. One of the things I love most about Amsterdam is the architecture and how most of the houses are mismatched, different coloured, and sometimes very crooked. Over a hundred photo's were taken that day (do not fear, they won't appear here all of them!), so I'll split them up into two or three posts. This first post is with photo's taken on the streets. When I came back home and had a better look at my photo's, I discovered Marc Chagall is on one of them too ;-) I hope you'll enjoy my little tour across Amsterdam.
This post makes me want to return to amsterdam. what a lovely city.

ReplyDeleteYou too Sabrina, let's hope it stays sunny for a loooooooong time!
DeleteI love these photos! You are right about the architecture; it's so interesting! What a fun place Amsterdam must be to visit!
ReplyDeleteYes it is! I wish we had more houses like that over here.
DeleteI'm so jealous of the architecture in Europe! The cities have a little more soul. Thanks for sharing pictures so often!
ReplyDeleteHaha, you're welcome. Not all buildings over here are that good looking though!
DeleteI would love to visit Amsterdam one day. These photos are so lovely, thank you sharing! :)
ReplyDeleteI really want to visit Amsterdam sometime soon. I love those buildings and the whole vibe of that awesome city. Your photos are stunning, darling. xoxo
ReplyDeleteThanks Diana, I think you would really love Amsterdam!

DeleteYour photos do a great job of capturing the quirky buildings in the city. It's been a zillion years since I was there but I did love it!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kerri!
DeleteI loved Amsterdam and although it's been awhile since I've been there, your photos bring back memories. I'd love to visit soon again. How wonderful that you are just a train's ride away!

For some sort of reason it seems further away, but after the trainride I always realize it's closer than I think and I should go more often :-)
DeleteI love the houses in Amsterdam! I think maybe I've already told you that. I can't wait to see more photos! :)
ReplyDeleteThere are lots more on their way!
DeleteAmsterdam looks amazing. I would love to visit it someday.
ReplyDeleteTracy @ Sunny Days and Starry Nights
It's a wonderful place to visit!
Deletethis looks so interesting! i think i need to google Amsterdam to learn more about the buildings! i've never been there.
ReplyDeleteThey're my favourite part of visits there
DeleteI love Amsterdam so much. I went in 2008 and wasn't sure how I'd like it but I fell in love. The architecture is so beautiful. And the people were so nice to us. I hope I can go back again.
ReplyDeleteI am happy to hear you liked it over here
DeleteLove Amsterdam! I really want to visit again!! Meanwhile, I can take pleasure from looking at your photos! I spotted Marc Chagall :)
ReplyDeleteI really enjoy discovering things in photo's when I get home, that I didn't notice when taking the photo.
DeleteIt's fun to see all the different colors and shapes of the buildings. Love the bicycles outside as well :)
ReplyDeleteI live in quite a boring looking apartment (from the outside), maybe that's why I like those mismatched houses :-)
DeleteI love all the buildings and architecture, there is so much history there, if only walls could talk!
ReplyDeleteThat would be awesome!
DeleteGreat pictures of Amsterdam! The mismatched houses make Amsterdam beautiful. But to be honest, downtown Amsterdam is to crowdy for me most of the time.
ReplyDeleteFor me too, I always avoid the Kalverstraat...
DeleteGreat pictures! They make Amsterdam look a lot less crowded ;)
ReplyDeleteGorgeous pictures! I've always wanted to visit, looks really beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThanks Holly!
DeleteThank you Mia!
ReplyDeleteGreat pictures Marieken! I especially love the one with the locks.
ReplyDeleteThanks Gemma!
DeleteThis is something I'm very deprived off. A train away to Amsterdam? You are so lucky! It would take us a very strict visa application and thousand of US dollars to reach any part in Europe. Sigh...
ReplyDeleteI love the one with the red door and the area with contrasting white and lavender.
I like the lavender too, although that tree looks a bit sad...
DeleteYour city sure does look different than my city. I like the looks of yours better! Mine is pretty boring but it's still nice to get out and walk.
ReplyDeleteThis is actually not my city, this is Amsterdam! I would love to go with you on one of your walks :-)
DeleteI LOVE all the houses in Amsterdam. I have a couple of photos from when I was last there taped into my scrabook "dream house" page. It looks like you had a great trip, I'm in love with the first photo, it's such a cute wonky house :) xx
ReplyDeleteI love wonky houses, but I wonder if it's fun to live in one of them.
