The one with Society6

I've been adding some new prints and products to my Society6 shop lately. My favourite is the letterpress print. It might be fun to know that there are a J, W & M sitting together in the second row. Whilst arranging the letters, I thought it might be fun to include the first letters of my grandmother's, mom's and my own first name. Until april 13th, Society6 offers free shipping and a $5.- discount on all orders (accept for framed prints, stretched canvases and throw pillows with insert) through this link. They also added rugs to their collection, I am very curious how they look in person! I think I've never seen a rug printed with a photo.

    1. No, I didn't know that! I don't use a letterpress machine. I have seen one at the open air museum :-)
I meant to sell them on Etsy, but I actually like to do some sort of DIY with them, or do some stamping, but that's still somewhere on my to do list...

  3. I love the pillow, it's so cool looking! I'm also very fascinated with letterpress printing. I was raised in the printing business and up until about 6 years ago when we closed the shop, we continued to use the letterpress. The only thing we used if for though was numbering. Ours was one of those gigantic things that you had to stand at. We called it the bone crusher. Before any of us were able to use it, my dad would turn it on (we had a motor added) and he'd stick a ruler in there so we could see that if we didn't get our hands out in time, they'd be crushed because you can't stop it and there is not give on steel to steel. You just brought back so many memories of my life in the business. Can you imaging how long it must have taken them to arrange the letters to create a newspaper? Plus, everything has to be put in backwards! So easy now, it's all done on a computer.

    1. I didn't know that! My parents started a printed company from our garage when I was a kid. They didn't do the old fashioned letterpress printing, but I can remember it was much more work than it is now. Fun story about the bonecrusher :-) I love those printing blocks, still looking for a project to use them for!

    1. Doesn't it sound cool? I am really curious how they are in real life. I almost want to order one, but I'm not sure if I would like a rug with a photo on it.
