The one with DaWanda's pop up store

Last sunday I travelled to Amsterdam with my mom. Almost two weeks ago we (me, mum and aunt M.) worked nearly non-stop to get two boxes full of printed tote bags, baby onesies, notebooks, and postcards ready in time for the pop-up store DaWanda opened this weekend.

Sorry for the amount of pictures in this post. I guess this most be some sort of proud momma thing  :-)  I loved seeing 'my' things in a real brick and mortar shop (other than my own), everything looked really cool, and I got much inspiration on how I can display some of the items in my own shop!

Love the oxblood bag and print

On sunday, Bobini was making personalized rings and cuffs at the shop.

The shop is located in Amsterdam, Gerard Doustraat 76. More info can be found on DaWanda's Facebookpage. Many other charming shops are close by. A pair of Chucks I haven't spotted anywhere else yet (striped, bit of a tweed-look and shiny black toes) wanted to go home with me. And who am I to say no to a pair of awesome shoes? I'm afraid I am developing a bit of a sneaker addiction.....

The one with the SwanMarket

Last sunday I attended my second market as a seller, at the SwanMarket in Tilburg (a city south of my hometown, which takes a 45 minute ride by train). Lucky for me, my mum went along, to keep me company, to wrap up sold items and between the two of us, we could take more things (and a nice bonus was having someone with me to hold the fort during a bathroom-break :-)

Arriving in the morning

Our set up

the elastic coard keeping cards in place works very well!

I hate having my picture taken, but here's proof that I was there :-)

And an impression of what the rest of the market looked like!

Awesome necklaces by Naked Design, I'm a fan!

Don't these look delicious!?

I got all sorts of excited when I spotted this one outside!

I had a great day, and I'd definitely sign up for a new market. The kit I made with supplies like pens, pushpins, tape etcetera, made things a lot easier. I kept the kit as it is and stored it in one of the trolleys we took. Last time, I put everything neatly back in its place when I got back, so I needed to make a new kit, next time it will be ready to go! Also, now I know I will be selling at a market again, there is some work to be done, presentation wise. I think I'll treat myself to a banner sometime soon, and I need some sort of display for my tote bags and notebooks. Clever ideas to stand out from the crowd are welcome ;-)
Selling from the comfort of your home, and communicating by computer is a whole different thing than selling from a stall. As an introvert, I never thought I would have liked interacting with buyers as much as I did. Do you like visiting and/or selling at markets?

The one with the things I liked this week (60)

Some random photos of this week. I've had the idea of adding some new notebooks to my Etsy shop for a while. I thought it might look cool to make covers out of photo's I've taken and I've experimented with different kinds of paper and machine settings. One of my moms cats offered a bit of help :-)
My friend Mandy brought over a box of very delicious chocolates, thanks sweetie! Other than that, I've started Postcrossing again some time ago. This week I received four cards, from Finland, Germany and the United States. I always feel like it's my birthday when I get home after work, open my mailbox, and find something good in there! The last picture is proof that I sometimes do eat other things than cheese, chocolate and cake. You might have gotten the wrong impression from this blog....

The one with 'Ondersteboven'

A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by Jolijn, asking me if I would like to sell some of my items in her shop. She runs a 'real' brick and mortar shop in my town's city center. The name of the shop is Ondersteboven (which is the Dutch word for upside down), and it's the perfect place for finding graphic art, vintage, zines, music, gifts and stationery. Last saturday I dropped of some shoppingbags, notebooks and postcards. More info about the shop can be found here.
