What you'll need:
- bright nailpolish, I used 4 different colours
- wooden oval, mine was 5 centimeters. I got it from this shop
- tape
- brooch pin
- hobby glue
- black marker, in the picture is a sharpie, but that one didn't really work as well as I hoped, so I used another one.
- varnish
Add tape
Paint, I also painted the sides. Each colour was applied three times.
Remove tape
Paint some more, I left one part uncoloured
Glue the brooch pin to the back
Make patterns with your marker. I finished it with a layer of varnish.
I love it! It's so bright and fun. I can't pin from my iPad, but I'll have to pin this tomorrow from my computer. I love finding new ways to use nail polish. I once used clear to seal a rusty spot on my bike!
ReplyDeleteMy bike has some rusty spots, I'll do the trick with the nailpolish when I get home :-) Clever idea.
DeleteI love how the black marker really adds detail to the bright colors!
ReplyDeleteFunky brooch and cute idea, Marieken!
ReplyDeleteSometimes I use clear nailpolish to seal some art object
and also to fix holes temporarily in sheer stockings :)
This looks like fun! Thanks for the great how-to post.
ReplyDeleteFun! I love the geometric look and bright colors! The black ink really adds a lot to the design, too.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much. So Cool!
ReplyDeleteThis is such a great DIY! It looks simple but also effective and wearable, I love the finished product :) xx
