The one with sunny Etsy picks

After a weekend with some sunshine, and temperatures that were pretty high for winter, we are back to cold days again. But I've got summer on my mind. Already! That's why I made this post with some sunny Etsy picks. I miss making treasuries on Etsy (and being featured in them with my shop, cause they were always good for extra views, and when one of my items was in a treasury that made it to the front page, that always got me some sales). I miss seeing pretty items I didn't know I needed in my life, or that made a perfect gift for a friend (yay for handmade presents, retrieved from small independed shops!). Seeing these bright colours (I even managed to squeeze in a pretty door!) make me happy, and in my mind I am already spending time reading books outside in the sun, accompanied by a yummy cocktail!

The one with colour

I don't know about you, but by now I've really had enough of grey days. Especially when those grey days are just grey, but rainy too! Temperatures have dropped this week, but things will look sunnier when the weekend comes. Until then, I'll keep procrastinating and looking for pretty colourful things. Here are some of the cute, bright things that caught my eye.

Blue eye earrings

Leather backpack

woo hoo print

Vintage lavender lamp

Ombre tights

The one with the painting of the stairs

Last sunday a big flight of stairs in our city got a make-over. There are plans for a renovation, but until then, they are looking happy and colourful. Painted in the colours of the rainbow, by lots of volunteers.

The pictures where there's still painting going on are taken by me, the last picture was taken from this website. A timelapse video can be found over here.

The one with the things I liked this week (62)

Gorgeous Russian stamps.

I didn't really feel like visiting the thriftshop, but on those days I usually find the best treasures. Like yesterday.

My aunt found this box of old carbon paper. I love the design of the packaging.

A happy looking pedestrian.

And another happy looking guy

Today is my birthday. I do like parties and get-togethers with friends. My birthday though, not so much. I guess I feel like I should have accomplished more since the last one. Am I the only one who struggles with the birthday blues? On the other hand, an important part of most birthdays is food. And I happen to like food! A lot. There's birthday cake waiting in the fridge, tonight I'll meet up with friends to have Indian food, and my aunt invited me for dinner tomorrow evening. On sunday I might need to take a very big walk....

I hope you'll have a fabulous weekend!

The one with the greens

Last saturday I tagged along with mum to the garden centre. I got some lovely lavender and in two weeks I have a 'gardening date' with a friend, to make the balcony summer proof. It has been looking kind of sad after winter. Sorry for the amount of photo's in this post, it became a bit picture heavy....

The one with lots of colour

With the days getting shorter, the temperatures getting lower and the amounts of rain increasing, I am craving lots of colorful things to surround myself with. Trying to postpone the first hot chocolate of the season and not getting my winter coat out of the basement just yet. Hanging on to summer as long as I possibly can.

The one with an aztec brooch

What you'll need:

  • bright nailpolish, I used 4 different colours
  • wooden oval, mine was 5 centimeters. I got it from this shop
  • tape
  • brooch pin
  • hobby glue
  • black marker, in the picture is a sharpie, but that one didn't really work as well as I hoped, so I used another one.
  • varnish

 Add tape

Paint, I also painted the sides. Each colour was applied three times.

 Remove tape

Paint some more, I left one part uncoloured

Glue the brooch pin to the back

Make patterns with your marker. I finished it with a layer of varnish.
