The one with the things I liked this week (106)

Bits of spring, seen at the market

A door, and a surpise owl that I didn't spot when I made this photo

Translation: how can you cook something with love, that wasn't produced with love

If only this truck had a different delivery address...

I should ask where my neighbours got their green thumbs :-)

Happy weekend!

The one with the golden sneakers tutorial

On a recent sunday Pinterest session, I came across an awesome pair of sneakers. They were the inspiration for this tutorial. It's a pretty easy one, without lots of supplies needed.

What you'll need:

  • A pair of sneakers with plastic toes
  • spraypaint
  • tape
  • optional, nailpolish in the same colour as your spraypaint

What you'll need to do:
Start by taping the front part of the shoes, just so that only the plastic part of the sneakers will be coloured when you start spraying them.

Spray them, my sneakers needed three layers to cover the white up nicely.

Let them dry well, I left the tape on overnight.

And done are your coloured-toed-sneakers. For a finishing touch I added some golden nailpolish to the tips of the laces. To make them extra fancy.

Have you been making any cool stuff lately? If so, please feel free to share a link in the comments below. In case you're interested in more DIY inspiration, more tutorials are over here

The one with the new shoes

Last year I spotted someone wearing the most awesome pair of Converse sneakers. One half black leather, the other half panther print. I started searching the internet for a similar pair and found nothing alike. That was until I discovered that the Converse website offers you the opportunity to design your own pair. All excited, I started designing. You can pick a model, colours, prints, lining, stitching, laces... I felt like a kid in a candystore! That was until the last step: the people of Converse don't offer international shipping. So here I was, with a virtual pair of perfect sneakers, and no chance to actually getting them. A couple of days ago, I came across a pair that got close enough, and with some birthday-money left, I ordered them. No black leather, but I think the gold coloured stitching makes up for most of that.
