The one at Olympus Playground

A couple of weeks ago my friend Mandy sent me a text message: if I had plans for the weekend. She'd won a day of photography at the Olympus Photography Playground with workshops and lunch on saturday. My mom was so kind to cover for me at work, so I could join her. The Playground let's you 'discover space and art trough the lens of the camera'. We both got an Olympus EM-10 for the day and got to take home the card that was in it. We each snapped loads and loads of photo's. Although I didn't post them all, be warned, this post is picture heavy. I'll start of with my favourite part of the day, in case I'll loose you somewhere along the way....

The graffiti like light art was by far my fave. All I needed to do, was to stand still, while Mandy did all of the work. Sounds perfect doesn't it? Not totally true, I did the doodling for her picture. I can try to explain how it works, but I'm sure Wikipedia does a much better job than I can possibly do.

The camera's all lined up at the beginning of the day, and looking at some photo's

 Having fun with foam-thingies

Who doesn't like a good sword fight? And just for the record: Mandy is wearing a wig. Not very clear in the photo, but the black thing is a wooden horse. And for the fight you got to use all sorts of props, like knives, swords (both made of wood), masks, capes and that big curly wig.

The building used to house a bank, and had some awesome details. I wish I could've taken this gorgeous floor along with me. I love a good looking tiled floor! If I'm not mistaken, the building is actually a national heritage site nowadays. I would've liked to have a peak at the rest of the building, but we weren't allowed to.

  5. What a good friend Mandy is to invite you along! Looks like you girls had a lot of fun. I'm totally into pretty floors too. All that looking down used to drive my mom nuts when I was little. Caused a lot of bumps on my head too - walking into things I didn't see coming!

    1. That's too funny! My floors are horrible, and I live in an apartment, so I don't know if a pretty tiled floor is an option. And Mandy is a good friend indeed.
