The one with the things I liked this week (149 & 150)

First of all, Happy New year! I am enjoying some days off of work, and will be getting back to normal life tomorrow. Normally I don't really do New Years resolutions, but I am contemplating making a list this year. Instead of resolutions, I'd rather like to see them as plans. Resolutions do have a bit of a  negative feel, I think. One thing I plan on doing, is giving a bit more love to the blog than I did last year. Together with that, I intend on catching up more on my favourite blogs. They teach me things, and show me lots of lovely places I will most probably not get to travel to in real life.
My last post was two weeks ago, and I've gathered quite an amount of photos of things I liked. Do you have any special plans / resolutions, or things you are looking forward to?

Brunch on Christmas day with friends, there were all sorts of yummy cheeses (again) homemade soup, and cinnamon buns.

Taking a different route to the supermarket, rewarded me with this lovely couple

Wouldn't it be fun to have decorations all year round, not just in december?

Traditionally, we eat 'oliebollen' in the Netherlands on New Years eve. Basically they are fried dough balls. You can also get them with apple, and with raisins (which are my faves). They are served with a lot of powdered sugar.

  1. Happy New Year Marieken! I hope you are able to follow through with all your plans. I am the same way about resolutions. Instead I set goals throughout the year to reach. Adorable happy Buddhas! Your posts tend to make me hungry, especially when cheese is involved. I would love those fried dough balls! They must be amazing with a cup of coffee.

  5. Those breads look delicious! And I bet that wreath smells amazing. I'm with you on preferring goals to resolutions. I don't fully have my 2016 goals yet, but I'm going the goals route for sure.

  6. There's an awful lot of fab-looking food in this post, Marieken--and one of my resolutions it to eat less of that kind of food for awhile! Your photos are especially fine this week!

  7. Happy New Year! I don't like to call them resolutions, either. It feels like too much pressure to do something, even if your life changes a little and the idea no longer works. I call mine "goals." :-)

  9. Happy New Year to my favorite Netherlander!

Plans: Hm...to take cooking classes in a cuisine I know nothing about. Maybe to make oliebollen! (PS: that is my mom's nickname for my son Oliver!)

  11. Happy New Year Marieken!
I don't usually make resolutions either although this year I would like to work on slowing down and living in the present. I'm not sure if I'll call it a resolution.
    Lovely pictures :)
