The one with the thrift shop finds
Just when I was about to give up on the thrift shop after multiple unsuccesful visits, I found these little treasures! The best part was that they cost only € 4,- (just over 5 USD) all together. The little wooden tray might need a little improvement and could be the victim of a DIY project. No idea yet what this project could be, suggestions are very welcome!. Do you like to go thrifting? What's the latest treasure you found?

The one with the plant pot DIY
In my 'things I liked this week post' from last friday, I already introduced you to my very first houseplant. We have been living together for two weeks now and it's still alive! The brown plastic pot-thingy it came in, wasn't very appealing, and was in need of a replacement. Apparently, winter isn't the best season to go shopping for a plant pot. I wasn't able to find a nice looking pot in the store, or any pot at all for that matter. So I whipped up something myself from things that were already in my home. So it was a very low budget DIY project. Now, that's my kind of project! And not having to leave the warmth and comfort of my home was a nice bonus.
What I did:
Well, not that much actually. I basically did some cutting and sticking with tape. I think these pictures don't need any explaining.
What I used:
- scissors
- washi tape
- an old tin
- a piece of oil cloth (a left-over from a previous DIY project)

- I got out of my comfort zone, by not only posting photo's, but by adding some written words to them too (I worry about my knowledge of the English language, and I am afraid to make mistakes)
- I virtually got to visit many different places, in the last 12 months I've been to Paris, Oslo, New York and Rome. I had trips to the Hirschhorn and I have a bit of an idea what it's like to sail down the East Coast of the United States!
- I've seen some delicious looking meals coming to life in other people's kitchens
- I rediscovered my love for photography
- I attended a Blogger Taco Party, took part in a DIY christmas blogging challenge and received Christmas cards from all corners of the world by joining a Christmas card exchange
- I've been named a purveyor of cool :-)
