Two weeks ago, I blogged about a visit to Utrecht. On our walk through the city, we came across some wonderful looking door knockers. I love beautiful doors! Like to see more? I have a whole pinboard filled with beautiful doors of here.
Wow! You found all of these knockers on your visit? Were they all in the same neighborhood, I wonder? Our door knocker fell off a couple of years ago, and we haven't replaced it yet.
It's interesting how most of them are lions (are they lions? Something like that). I wonder if there is significance to that. It's a cool collection of photos--I see it growing!
Nice post, if you haven't been to Prague then give it a try, there is some amazing Architecture of course and beautiful doors. My favourite, I want the first one for my castle door ;).
These are so cool, I love lion headed door knowckers, we have one on our door! Although some of these lions look reallly sad. You have such an eye for pretty things :) xx
I love this collection of photos! I'm going to have to remember to keep an eye out for an interesting door knocker for our next house! The first thing I noticed about them was the expression on the lion's face. Some look so sad!
Wow the door knocker looks absolutely fabulous. I never knew they could add so much glamour to the door. I think I should replace mine with brass door knockers too.
Gorgeous! I can't wait to have my own doorknocker one day. It will probably be a lion's head, but I am open to suggestions. Here along with this also we birdbath, bird feeders and so on.
I love doors and unusual door knockers! You found some really great ones - I love
ReplyDeletethe third one!
p.s. in answer to your question: yes, they are my old dance shoes :)
How fun! I love finding pretty details and exploring new cities!

These door knockers remind me of the movie Labyrinth. Have u seen it? The two talking door-knockers in it were awesome:D
ReplyDeleteYou mean the one with David Bowie? I've seen parts of it, a long time ago. Should I give it another go?
DeleteCool! Two of the lions are looking kind of sad, did you notice? :)
ReplyDeleteIt was raining that day, maybe that's why they weren't happy :-)

ReplyDeleteI'd love to see it if you find some door knockers too!
DeleteThere's something so mysterious and fascinating about door knockers, I've been wanting to buy a black cat one for awhile now!
ReplyDeleteIf you get one, will you share a photo?
