The one with the clipboard

The upside of summer not showing itself, is that all the extra time indoors can be spend on working on new DIY projects. Don't misunderstand, I am waiting for summer to show itself. And I am looking forward to sipping on cold drinks, wearing shorts, and getting some reading done on my balcony. But until then, I'll wait, (not so) patiently inside, making stuff!
Lots of the interior photos on Pinterest that I like, happen to have clipboards in them. A lovely way of displaying pretty photo's and images (this illustration was in Flow Magazine), it's easypeasy to change what you want on display. And making it is easypeasy too! I came across a paper bag, that had a lovely starsign pattern on the inside, that I used for this little project.

What you'll need:
  • cardboard (I used two pieces, to make the clipboard extra sturdy)
  • pretty paper
  • metal clip
  • washi tape
  • glue
  • utility knife
  • cutting mat
  • transparant contact paper (the kind that is sticky on one side)

Start by cutting the paper the same size as the cardboard paper,
I made one for the front, as well as one for the back

Now comes the tricky part: place the pretty paper on either side of the cardboard and cover this up with the contact paper. Cut away the edges.

Stick the tape to the edges of the clipboard.

Fold over

Glue the clip to the board. Turned out I had the wrong kind of glue, but a small piece of tape in between the clip and the board did the trick.

And done!

  5. What a cool project! I hope summer comes for you soon. It has rained nonstop here, but the weather has still been warm so I'm grateful for that.

  6. I like this idea a lot because I get bored and like to change my visual inspirations around. I've been so obsessed with weaving that I haven't done other small projects--maybe this will inspire me!

  10. Really nice! I love the papers you found. Luckily, I have some clear contact paper. I actually couldn't find it near where I live in Hawaii and had to order some online!
