Last weekend I left the comfort of the city (and my comfort zone) and take a walk and some photo's in the park. Most of my time is spend in the city. I love buildings, concrete, places where you can sit (on a comfy chair) and have a fresh cup of coffee, and I like shops. I don't need to go inside them, but it's nice to know that if I am in sudden need of a new pair of jeans, I can just go and get them. Camping's not for me, I prefer a hotel with a bed and a closet to hang my clothes. I don't like bugs and getting my shoes dirty. Two weeks ago, a bird pooped on my head (and not just a little bit of poop, it was the result of a very big meal), so I am not a big fan of those either. And outdoorsy is the last word my friends would use to describe me.
I think you should get out in nature more often--it clearly inspires you! Those photos are really neat! I'm pretty much the opposite of you--much more comfortable in the country and not sure how to behave in a big city.
ReplyDeleteThese photos are gorgeous! I can relate to both sides. I love camping and I love hotels. I grew up in a city but I love the country. I love sitting and drinking coffee and I love cute shops, but I also love nature and wildlife and I am particularly fond of birds!
ReplyDeleteI'm not traditionally outdoorsy, either, but I've had a great time going to the local arboretum a lot this summer. Camping is still horrible, but spending a couple of hours in the woods can be nice.
ReplyDeleteThese pictures are beautiful! I'm a city person too, but I need to take breaks to be in nature. I'm sorry that a bird pooped on you!
ReplyDeleteHaha, so was I!
DeleteGood for you for not discriminating and going to see what the woods had to offer! Clearly your city-loving self found some beauty after all ;)
ReplyDeleteLOL....I'm exactly the same. Not too big on being outdoors and all that camping stuff. I've never gotten the point of the whole thing. And curse on that bird!
ReplyDeletePS
I do love the pics above though:P
I don't get the point either!
DeleteI think I probably am outdoorsy person haha, I just love the photos of the mushrooms! They're so interesting :) I'm glad you had fun in the park! xx

Glad to see you broke out of your comfort zone! I am a nature lover, BUT I'm totally afraid of bugs and anything really gross (haha) so I definitely don't do the camping thing!
ReplyDeleteI did the camping thing three times. With one of them, after the weekend was over, I was packing up my things and I saw one of the biggest spiders I've even seen. Yuk!
DeleteOh no on the bird! I've had that happen before too...not fun!
ReplyDeleteBut your pics are great. Love the leaf that looks like a heart :)
You got some great nature pictures despite not being outdoorsy! They all have very interesting textures. Also, I like that one with the tree trunk and leaf and how the leaf looks like a little brown heart.
ReplyDeleteI love to find mushrooms! To me that is a score! If you didn't step out of your comfort level, you would have never gotten those great pics! We live by the Indiana Dunes State Park so we have lots of opportunity to hike trails. To me, it's such a treat to go into the city!
ReplyDeleteI'm the same way! I hate camping. I actually do like nature, but I have no desire to go to the bathroom outside or sleep outside. I also hate bugs, extreme weather, poison ivy, I could keep naming things all day long. But like I said, I do really love to go for walks in a garden, for example, or on a wooded trail. As long as I'm not too far from civilization and I can retreat as soon as I want. Also, so sorry about the bird poop. They are so rude. :(
