The one with the things I liked this week (part 42)

For these 'things I like' posts I normally post photo's I've taken throughout the week. This week, all of the things I liked, are from my home. When the days get shorter, and the temperatures drop, I turn into a couch potato and I love to spend time indoors with a good book, or catching up on some of my favourite tv shows.

I got the print of the blue building in the first photo a while ago, from Mary's Society6 shop. As a new seller on Society6 I wanted to know how the prints look, how fast it ships, how it's packaged and how the paper feels (it looks super, ships fast, it's shipped in a cardboard tube and the paper is very sturdy). I love Mary's eye for super cool things and I am very happy with the print. I still need to get some frames though!

In the third photo is a tea set that was a gift from my friends' mother. It's a family heirloom, but my friend didn't like it, and she knew I would. The (very) vintage bible in the fourth photo was my grandfather's. He died before I was born, and I like having a little piece of family history at home.

  1. I'm glad you have something that belonged to your grandfather to remember him by.
It is good to know that information about Society6! Thanks for sharing that! I have been
looking for shipping costs on the site, but haven't found any information.
Do you know how much the shipping is to Europe?

    1. I have no idea, but I can imagine that it depends on the item. Society6 often offers free shipping though.

    2. Thanks. I just think it is strange that shipping costs aren't visible ;-)

And there's nothing like heirloom pieces to add a piece of history in the house, eh?

  8. I love your print purchases. The subtle colors complemented your wall. The Bible is indeed priceless. I was fortunate to meet my grandparents, although three of them already went ahead. I still have my paternal grandpa. I never had any material remembrance with them except for my maternal grandma who left me with old coins and paper bills I used for my High School project.

I'm enjoying the little yet beautiful things you post in your blog. You have amazing photography skills too. Have a great day!

  10. I got your cards, Marieken, and they look so good! They were shipped flat in a cardboard mailer and the colors are very vibrant and true. I will post about them soon. Also, I love your vintage family things. I have some that have been passed down to me, and I keep everything, even the things that aren't exactly my style...because it's nice to keep things they loved with you. <3
